As of today, I continue to monitor and stay on top of the coronavirus situation through the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control (CDC).

It’s safe to say that the Coronavirus came like a thief in the night – we’ve all been totally blindsided by this virus and most of our plans have had to be cancelled or shifted.

Here at theufuomaexperiences, our travels aren’t cancelled, they are only postponed. There’s nothing worse than having nothing to look forward to and there’s so much power in anticipation. Health and safety of everyone is my priority but I still want us all to have fulfilling experiences, when the dust settles.

Find below the FAQ and updates for the trips. I will be updating this frequently.

1.) What are you doing about the coronavirus situation with regards to your planned trips?

A lot is beyond my control but I am doing my best to stay up to date with all that’s happening and adjusting as I go. I am staying in contact with the hotels, vendors and tour guides who continue to give me updates on their countries and how things are faring. I just heard from my Italy vendors and they say there are plans to reopen tourism by June. Many of the hotels and vendors are keeping flexible in terms of moving dates so I have full confidence that when we do decide to travel again, our itinerary will continue as planned. And even better.

I have also added a wellness element to all our trips, at no added cost to the participants. I know this period has been tough for most people so this will give everyone the much needed opportunity to let off some steam.

2.) Are trips in 2021 still happening?

Yes, that is the plan. We recently concluded an amazing trip to Tulum, Mexico in January 2021. Our trip dates are now as follows: Italy in July, Jordan in August and Japan in October. Fingers crossed they go according to plan.

3.) What options do I have if my trip is cancelled due to coronavirus?

This may come as good news to most people but I do not plan to cancel any trips, I am only working on postponing them so while they may not happen now, they will happen later. There’s never a time when travel is no longer needed and having something to look forward to is good for the mental health.

However, in the event that I do cancel a trip due to circumstances beyond my control, I will be issuing a refund to everyone on the trip.

The options you have are:

  • OPTION 1: A credit refund that can be put towards a future trip. You can transfer your balance towards a future trip in 2020 or 2021. Any increase in prices due to the changing travel landscape will not apply to you.
  • OPTION 2: Transferring your spot to a family or friend.
  • OPTION 3: If trip is cancelled by me, a refund will be issued to you.

4.) Should I still be making monthly payments?

I understand that finances might be an issue for you in this time. If you’re unable to meet your monthly payments, please reach out to Ufuoma at [email protected] and we can discuss an arrangement that works better for you. I only ask that payments are made in full at least one month to the trip start date as this helps with planning and ensuring the trip goes smoothly.

Thank you all so much for your understanding in this time. I look forward to traveling with you all soon. If you have any questions, please reach out to me [email protected] and I will be more than happy to answer your questions.
