My Top 10 Travel Websites That are Bookmark-Worthy
Don’t we all love those travel websites that make our travels so much easier? I have a couple favorites and you know I’m always here to spill all that travel tea. From hotel bookings to shuttle bookings to finding great new activities in the cities I am visiting, here are my Top 10 travel websites that are bookmark-worthy.
1.) BOOKING.COM
To find great hotels and accommodations.
Not sure about you but where I stay on holiday is very important to me so this is number one on my list for obvious reasons – the ease of booking, the sheer number of hotel options and all the perks that come with it. This website is my go-to for accommodation booking. As a genius member, I get an extra 10% off every booking. The more you book with the site, the more you gain points and become a genius member for even more perks.
2.) SUPER SHUTTLE
To find airport transfers
Transporting yourself from the airport to your hotel on arrival can be such a hassle sometimes. Not only are airport taxis very expensive, they can be inefficient and overwhelming. This is why I love Super Shuttle as it makes this whole process ten times easier and leads to some cost savings. With the click of a button, you can book a reliable shuttle to transport you to your hotel. Easy peesy.
3.) GET YOUR GUIDE
To find fun tours and activities
This is my absolute favorite website to book tours and activities on. Not only does it give me ideas on some of the cool things I can do on my travels, I can read reviews from other travelers who have booked and make an informed decision based on that.
4.) COUCHSURFING
For finding local advise & insight
While Couchsurfing’s original idea is a platform where travelers can find hosts in new cities and stay at their places for free, I use Couchsurfing for so many other things including meeting new people when I travel and getting local advise and perspective on the place I am visiting.
5.) SKYSCANNER
For finding great flight deals to anywhere
You really thought I was going to leave out my absolute favorite travel site ever? I love browsing Skyscanner as it not only does a good job of finding me travel deals to anywhere, it also gives me new ideas on where to go next. If you do not bookmark any of these sites above, you should bookmark Skyscanner.
6.) INSTAGRAM
For bouts and bouts of inspiration
I know what you’re thinking – what is this social platform doing on this list. Honestly, Instagram is what you make of it and I love using this platform to connect with people, make new friends and very importantly, draw travel inspiration from. A good look at the hashtags #travel #travelinspiration and even country-specific hashtags, will reveal to you a travel goldmine that is quite unlike no other. Don’t sleep on it!
7.) TRIP ADVISOR
To get awesome local advice
This is one of my favorite sites for getting advise on what to do, things to see and places to eat when I travel. The great thing about TripAdvisor is, it is user-generated so you can expect to get some authentic, first hand experiences from people who have been there and done that. Of course, you may have to do a bit of sifting through to get exactly what you want but when you do, it will be worth it.
8.) AIR BNB
For fun and unique accommodations
I love, love Airbnb for all the great accommodation options it gives me. Everytime I am tired of the hotel experience, I look to Airbnb to give me a warm, homely, stay option and it always delivers.
9.) FLYTOGRAPHER
For awesome photographs when you travel
I haven’t ever used Flytographer but it is definitely one that will come in handy in situations where I need to book a photographer in any city I am visiting. An alternative will be to book Airbnb experiences however, Flytographer just adds a bit more of a personal touch and will be great for things like proposal shoots or wedding shoots, and so on.
10.) WITH LOCALS
Evidently, I love websites that steer me in the direction of locals and this website is one of them. You can enjoy a city like a local and find unique things to do here. I used this for my trip to Thailand and I absolutely loved all the experiences from here. Worth bookmarking for sure.
These are quite informative lists. thank you.
